Ann Turnbull
Dr. Ann Turnbull has been a professor, teacher, researcher, and advocate for individuals with disabilities, their families, and service providers for more than 35 years. She has been the Principal Investigator on over 20 federally funded research grants and has authored 14 books, including 3 leading textbooks in the field of special education. She has also authored over 200 articles, chapters, and monographs. In 1999, she was selected by a national consortium of seven organizations within the intellectual developmental disabilities field as one of 36 individuals who have made the most significant contribution in the 20th century to enhancing quality of life for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. In addition to her professional credentials, she is the parent of three children, one of whom, Jay, is an adult son with multiple disabilities.
