CONNECT Course: Adaptations that Work

In this course, you will learn about the purpose, use and potential benefits of assistive technology interventions when working with young children.

 Course objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to:                              

  • Describe assistive technology interventions to promote children’s access to and participation in inclusive settings; and
  •  Use a decision-making process to help integrate various sources of evidence and determine whether assistive technology interventions are appropriate for use within a specific context.
This course aligns with the following  2014 DEC Recommended Practices:
  • E4. Practitioners work with families and other adults to identify each child’s needs for assistive technology to promote access to and participation in learning experiences.
  • E5. Practitioners work with families and other adults to acquire or create appropriate assistive technology to promote each child’s access to and participation in learning experiences.
This is a 5-hour course worth .5 CEUs.
