New Grant Opportunity for Community Colleges

by Pam Winton

$600,000 over 4 years is a lot of money, and that is what the U.S. Department of Education (OSEP) will give to 10 early childhood community college teacher preparation programs who write winning proposals.  This historic opportunity prioritizes enhancements to courses and practica to support inclusion.  It reflects the growing recognition that the success of inclusion often rests on the shoulders of graduates of community college programs.  OSEP wants to get the word out and hopes to receive enough high quality proposals to fund at least 10.  NPDCI/CONNECT has created a resource page to assist community college faculty in responding to the request for proposal (RFP).
