Lesson study example

Posted by Marilou Hyson at Jul 15, 2008
I wonder if the example should be modified so that the intervention is implemented by a number of team members, not just one. My exposure to lesson study is through examples from its use in Japanese settings, in which many teachers collaborate to develop, try out, and refine a specific lesson (or, in inclusion terms, and "intervention").

a general comment about the definitions

Posted by Marilou Hyson at Jul 15, 2008
This comment isn't about "lesson study" specifically. As I am reading through the definitions of these various professional development approaches, I'm wondering if it would be helpful (in the future) to try to also create a comparative matrix--perhaps helping to show what these various approaches have in common, what their strengths and challenges may be, in what contexts they may be especially useful, what evidence there is of their effectiveness, etc. Just a thought . . . .
