How do I update my profile (including email address, personal bio and photo)?

Short answer, login and go to: http://community.fpg.unc.edu/personalize_form

Alternative method:

1.  Login
2. Select your name from the green bar (top right of page)
3. Click on "Profile" (right side of page)
4. Click on "Edit", this will take you to a "Personal Preferences" page
   
5. To edit your biography, scroll down to the Biography section, type your information in the "Biography" block and then select "Save" at the bottom of the page.
6. To edit your photo, scroll down to the Portrait section, select "Browse" , in the pop-up dialog that appears find the new image on your local computer you would like to upload and then select "Open" in the pop-up.  Once you are back on the main "Personal Preferences" page, select "Save at the bottom of the page.
   

How do I retrieve/reset my password?

If you would like to reset your password (for example if it is lost or you would like it to match others you maintain)
you can do so by using your userid (login name) at:  http://community.fpg.unc.edu/mail_password_form

• We cannot retrieve your password for you, it is stored in a secure format. However, you can reset your password (above).
• If you have forgotten your login name, try looking yourself up in the site Directory here: Directory or contacting us at community@mail.fpg.unc.edu .
• If you ever change your password; remember to change it on all computers you use to access the site.

How can I get my browser to remember my password?

Typically your internet browser will let you remember a password when you login to a site for the first time; just click "remember" or something similar when prompted. For this function to work properly, you must have cookies enabled on your browser. As a reminder, if you ever change your password, remember to change it on all computers (e.g., work, home, laptop) you use to access the site.

How do I add a comment to something?

Many items like blog postings and document reviews allow for comments. 

To Add a Comment

1. Look for the "Add comment" button at the bottom of a page (if the button does not appear, comments are disabled on the item)
   
2. Click the "Add comment" button
3. Enter a "Subject" and your "Comment" in the fields provided (both fields are required)
4. If you are not logged in, provide your contact information
5. Click "Save"
6. Your comment is automatically added

 

To Reply to a Comment

1. Below the comment you would like to reply to, click on "Reply"
2. Enter a "Subject" and your "Comment" in the fields provided (both fields are required)
3. If you are not logged in, provide your contact information
4. Click "Save"
5. Your comment is automatically added

 

 

How do I add/delete an item?

You can add and delete files, folders, images, etc. to folders you have permission to do so.

TO ADD

1. Be certain you are logged in. 
   
2. Navigate to the folder you like add something too. 
   
3. Select the "Add New" from the tan bar on the top of the page. 
   
4. Select the item type you like to add (e.g. file, folder, image, etc.).
5. Type in the appropriate information.
6. Select "Save" at the bottom of the page.
7. The item should now be added to the folder you are in.

TO DELETE

1. Be certain you are logged in. 
   
2. Navigate to the item you would like to delete.
3. Select "Actions" from the tan bar on the top of the page. 
4. Select delete.
5. You will be prompted if you are sure you would like to delete the item.  If yes, select "Delete".
